Bikeskills
Demonstration and Outreach Program Information:
There's nothing more important to us at Bikeskills than bringing the positive messages of cycling to our
future, the kids. It's not just talk, it's what we do.
And that's why during the next couple of weeks, we'll
be out there dragging portable jumps around to schools
and young people's clubs around the greater Bay Area. |
 |
We read all those reports about bad diets and a lack
of exercise causing serious health problems. And we
know that bad habits tend to start early. But we also
know that good ones do as well. And the best of those
habits are the ones that are fun and good for you. For
us, that's been cycling, so when people ask us to show
up, we'll be there! We're more than willing to let the
kids decide: what's cooler Chris doing a back flip or
Jack flipping a burger? From there, we're going to be
there to take them from the watching stage to the doing
stage: Bikeskills.
We're confident the fun factor will do the rest!
What are we going to be doing,
and talking about at these outreach programs? |
We will be showing
people what happens when you spend 15 years developing
world class skills: you can do amazing things.
Chris will demonstrate what he can do. But the
real story isn't so much what he can do, but why.
Why Chris can do backflips,
truck drivers, can cans, you name it is a result
of the same skills that are required for success
in anything we want to accomplish. |
 |
| He won't be talking
about bike handling stuff, but life handling stuff.
Things we call "lifeskills." He'll be
talking about how patience is as important to becoming
a better musician as it is a cyclist. And how about
without long goals and objectives you won't be ready
for college any more than you will be for doing
a backflip. |
 |
After we get all
the fun and important stuff out of the way, Chris
is going to remain on the scene to answer questions,
provide some tips, and just maybe autograph and
hand out a few posters.
If would like us to come to your school or community,
give us a call at (415) 388-1260,
or write us an e-mail.
